His latest release, My Days of 58, is already his eighth album under his own name and his first since 2022. For the recordings, he reunited with guitarist Matt Kinsey, saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, and drummer Jim White, musicians he previously toured with. Their strong chemistry allows the album to breathe the energy of his live shows: intuitive, relaxed, and full of space for improvisation. It gave Callahan the confidence to let go of safe perfection and make room for the unexpected.
