Maar weinig stemmen zijn zo puur en intens als die van IJslandse indie-folkartiest Axel Flóvent. Direct vanaf debuut-EP Forest Fires, waarvan de gelijknamige single al ruim 90 miljoen keer is gestreamd, weet Flóvent je in het hart te raken met zijn dromerige, introspectieve songs. Al snel belandde hij dan ook in menig playlist tussen grootheden als Ben Howard en Bon Iver.
Na enige tijd in Amsterdam en Brighton te hebben gewoond, is Flóvent inmiddels weer teruggekeerd naar het Noord-IJslandse vissersdorp Húsavík. Het is zijn geboortedorp, waar hij de rust en hernieuwde inspiratie vond voor recente singles Nowhere en In the Grass en zijn aankomende EP Fleeing the Shore.
Few voices are as pure and intense as that of Icelandic indie-folk artist Axel Flóvent. From his debut EP Forest Fires—whose title track has already been streamed over 90 million times—Flóvent has had a way of striking straight at the heart with his dreamy, introspective songs. It wasn’t long before he found his way onto countless playlists alongside greats such as Ben Howard and Bon Iver.
After spending time living in Amsterdam and Brighton, Flóvent has since returned to the North Icelandic fishing village of Húsavík. It is his hometown, where he found the calm and renewed inspiration for recent singles Nowhere and In the Grass, as well as his upcoming EP Fleeing the Shore.
