Online Orkest Experience

Niet iedereen weet wat je kunt verwachten bij een symfonisch concert. Welke instrumenten hoor je, wat doet een dirigent en hoe werkt zo’n concert eigenlijk? Het Noord Nederlands Orkest wil vooral kinderen en jongeren op een toegankelijke en leuke manier voorbereiden op hun eerste kennismaking met het orkest.

Vierdejaars studenten Creative Media & Game Technologies onderzoeken daarom welke interactieve vorm hier het beste voor werkt. Dat kan een game, app, interactieve tour of een ander verrassend digitaal concept zijn. Het doel is om kinderen en jongeren zelfstandig kennis te laten maken met het symfonieorkest en zo hun nieuwsgierigheid en plezier in een concertbezoek te vergroten.

Aan het einde van het project presenteren de studenten hun concept en een demo van het eindproduct aan het NNO. Daarbij lichten ze ook hun aanpak, belangrijkste inzichten en aanbevelingen toe.

Not everyone knows what to expect at a symphonic concert. Which instruments do you hear, what does a conductor do, and how does such a concert actually work? The North Netherlands Orchestra primarily wants to prepare children and young people for their first introduction to the orchestra in an accessible and fun way.

Therefore, fourth-year Creative Media & Game Technologies students are investigating which interactive format works best for this. This could be a game, an app, an interactive tour, or another surprising digital concept. The goal is to allow children and young people to independently get acquainted with the symphony orchestra, thereby increasing their curiosity and enjoyment of attending a concert.

At the end of the project, the students will present their concept and a demo of the final product to the NNO. In doing so, they will also explain their approach, key insights, and recommendations.
