With great pride, we can announce the first confirmed name: Neil Young and his band The Chrome Hearts will be coming to Groningen on Tuesday, July 1, as part of his Love Earth Tour 2025. A very special guest for this show is Van Morrison.
Neil Young – A Rock and Folk Icon
Neil Young is one of the most influential musicians in the rock and folk world. His career began in the 1960s with Buffalo Springfield. In 1968, he left the band to release his self-titled solo debut. A year later, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere was released, marking his first collaboration with the American band Crazy Horse. During this time, he was also part of the legendary supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
The 1970s brought iconic albums such as Harvest, After The Gold Rush, and Tonight’s The Night, featuring classics like Southern Man, Heart of Gold, Old Man, and Like A Hurricane.
In the early 1980s, Young experimented with various musical styles, ranging from country, folk, and blues to grunge and electronic music. In 1989, he returned to his signature sound with Freedom, featuring the hit single Rockin’ In The Free World.
He continues to release incredible albums, including Hitchhiker (2017), Homegrown (2020), and Chrome Dreams (2023).
