Beres Hammond mag met recht een echte reggae-legende genoemd worden. De soepel swingende Jamaicaanse reggaezanger is al actief sinds de jaren 70, maar brak pas echt door in de jaren 90 met zijn hits Tempted to Touch, Is This A Sign en Respect To You Baby. Dinsdag 4 juni staat Beres Hammond samen met zijn Harmony House Band in De Oosterpoort!

Hammond weet na al die jaren nog steeds de harten van zijn grote gevolg te veroveren met zijn soulvolle stem en lovers rock: reggae waarin liefde en romantiek centraal staan. I Feel Good is bijvoorbeeld zo’n tijdloze hit die nog veel gedraaid wordt door sound systems wereldwijd. Sinds zijn debuut in 1978 heeft hij bijna 20 albums uitgebracht, waarop hij samenwerkte met onder anderen Maxi Priest, Buju Banton en Wyclef Jean.

Never Ending
In 2015 was Beres Hammond een van de hoofdacts tijdens Reggae Fever Festival in De Oosterpoort. In 2018 bracht hij zijn meest recente plaat Never Ending uit. Liefde is wederom een van Hammond’s grootste inspiratiebronnen geweest voor dit album. Op 4 juni zal dit album centraal staan tijdens de show in De Oosterpoort. Verwacht dus een dikke lading warmte en blijdschap!

After all those years, Hammond still is able to conquer the hearts of his many fans with his soulful voice and lovers rock: reggae in which love and romance take centre stage. I Feel Good is an example of such an ageless hit that is still played often by sound systems worldwide. Since his debut in 1978 he has released almost 20 albums, on which he worked together with among others Maxi Priest, Buju Banton, and Wyclef Jean.

Never Ending
Beres Hammond was one of the headliners during the 2015 Reggae Fever Festival in De Oosterpoort. In 2018 he released his most-recent album Never Ending. Love was one of Hammond’s major sources of inspiration for this album too. On 4 June this album will play a leading part during the show in De Oosterpoort. Expect a tremendous amount of warmth and happiness.
